【English GeoScience Cafe No.11】Robots in Newsrooms and Fake News: Concerns for the State of Journalism Today

Time: 7:30-9:00 p.m.

Date: 19th, October, 2017 (Thursday)

Location: Leisure Hall on Fourth Floor in LIESMARS, Information Sciences Campus of WHU

Abstract:

We live in a time when traditional journalism is being severely challenged. From fake news ads purchased by other governments to sway U.S. elections and newsrooms increasingly trading live reporters and copy editors for computer programs to finish and edit articles, the news industry is experiencing an unprecedented sea change. How will news agencies adapt to a totally new digital age? How will this adaptation affect the way we consume news in the future?
