
On November 26-27, 2020, the 14th China Smart City Conference was held in Beijing, sponsored by the Smart City Committee of the Chinese Society of Surveying and Mapping. Academician Li, Deren, Director of the Academic Committee of the Laboratory, and Professor Chen, Ruizhi, Director of the Laboratory, attended the conference.
Prof. Chen Ruizhi was honored as the “2020 Smart City Leader” at the conference. Professor Chen is mainly engaged in smartphone ubiquitous positioning and satellite navigation research, and has led his team to win many championships, including the overall champion of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) smartphone-based indoor positioning competition and the champion of the cell phone category of the 9th International Congress on Indoor Positioning and Navigation (IPIN). The multi-source fusion indoor-outdoor seamless high-precision positioning service research being conducted by his team has a wide range of applications in building smart cities based on the digital twin, especially in responding to public emergencies with great potential for precise management.
