Professor Chen Ruizhi was elected as Academician of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters

On April 23, Professor Chen Ruizhi, director of the State Key Laboratory of Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing of Wuhan University was elected.as Academician of the Finish Academy of Science and Letters.

Chen Ruizhi is an internationally renowned scholar in the field of navigation and positioning. He is committed to the theoretical research and core technology development of seamless indoor and outdoor navigation and positioning of smart phones, as well as low-orbit satellite navigation enhancement. He has served as a chair professor at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, director of the navigation department of the Finnish Geodesy Institute, and as project manager of Nokia in Finland.

The Finnish Academy of Science and Letters was established in 1908. It is a broad-based society whose main goal is to promote scientific research and promote exchanges among high-level scientific researchers. At present, there are more than 800 Finnish Academicians and 180 foreign Academicians, all of whom have made outstanding achievements in various fields.
